Horror fans have been hearing the rumors for years regarding Dimension Films’ remake of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic Hellraiser, with Martyrs director Pascal Laugier attached.

In a recent interview, original Pinhead star Doug Bradley and Hellraiser director Clive Barker voiced their opinions on the matter. Do they know what’s going on with the project?

Not me, sir. I haven’t talked to Dimension [who own the rights] in years. It would be hard work to seduce me back,” said Barker.

Barker continued, “It’s my full stop on Pinhead in literary terms. Whether I have a place in the remake depends on if I’m invited, I guess. But if it were to be remade, it would have to be reinvented. And that means you have to have a fresh point of view.

How does the original Pinhead icon Doug Bradley feel about it now?

It will be 15 years, this year, since I last played the character. If there was going to be a bookend to my career in the latex and pins, it would be a movie version of The Scarlet Gospels. I think Clive did a fantastic job with it,” said Bradley

Dark Universe will keep you posted when/if we hear more.
