The Crow Remake Rights Have Been Acquired, Exit from Relativity

The Crow remake has been through so much troubled history with Relativity over the years, and it doesn’t seem to end. Today, TheWrap is reporting that Davis Films, Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow have acquired the rights to finance, produce and distribute the film, which is now titled The Crow Reborn, a new take on the cult classic franchise.

Scheduling for the film is up in the air but the group hopes to maintain the same pace the film was on, an individual familiar with the project told the website.

Relativity was hoping to begin shooting in January 2017 with The Hallow‘s Corin Hardy apparently still onboard to direct, with a report from August that Jason Momoa “Game of Thrones” could star as our Eric Draven.

Synopsis:

“Like the original, the story follows Eric Draven, a murder victim who returns from the dead, seeking vengeance on those who murdered him and his fiancée with the help of a mystical bird.”
