David Fincher Will Direct 'World War Z' Sequel With Brad Pitt

David Fincher’s follow up to Marc Forster’s 2013 zombie infection flick World War Z has been rumoured for around 6 months, but today we learned that the film is now a go. Variety reports that Fincher will be directing the sequel, which will also feature the return of Brad Pitt.

Paramount Pictures has not officially given the film a green light yet, but things should begin to move fairly soon on the project. Pitt and Fincher collaborated together on hits such as Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We are definitely down for another World War Z flick, so bring on the infected zombie action.

World War Z Synopsis:
When former U.N. investigator Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) and his family get stuck in urban gridlock, he senses that it’s no ordinary traffic jam. His suspicions are confirmed when, suddenly, the city erupts into chaos. A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and, with luck, a way to halt its spread.
