There’s no doubt that we’ve all been wondering whether or not horror master John Carpenter would be more involved in bringing Michael Myers back to the big screen. We know he’s the executive producer, we know he’s up for doing the music, but what about the creative side of things? Well, continue reading and find out.

Coming Soon recently caught up with Halloween producer Jason Blum, where he revealed some very exciting details regarding Carpenter’s involvement.

We don’t take any big steps without his approval, so for instance hiring David and Danny [McBride] he approved,” Blum told the site. “He approved their pitch, he approved their first script. He approved bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis. So anytime we make a big creative turn he’s involved with that and we don’t do it without his blessing.

Blum continued, “We went to him and asked him to be involved. There was no contractual, financial or any other obligation to have him on this movie. We went back and asked him to join us again.

Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode in the next year’s Halloween.

John Carpenter will executive produce with Malek Akkad producing for Trancas and horror specialist Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse. Gordon Green and McBride will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Synopsis:
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
