First Photo of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise From 'IT' Remake

Today, we can reveal the first shot of Bill Skarsgard in the full Pennywise clown costume for the IT remake. I have been taking my time looking at the image very closely, and I just feel he looks a bit on the goofy side. I think it’s going to be hard convening fans of the original Pennywise to warm to this, but I could be wrong. Overall, I think the outfit is very creepy and dirty looking, just like he’s been living down in the sewers. What do you guys think?

You can check out what the costume designer Janie Bryant had to say to EW about creating the Pennywise look.

Here’s some of what Janie Bryant had to say below:

There is almost a doll-like quality to the costume. The pants being short, the high waistline of the jacket, and the fit of the costume is a very important element. It gives the character a child-like quality.

Richie Tozier, Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Grazer, and Chosen Jacobs are :

“seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.“

Other cast include Owen Teague, Nicholas Hamilton, Javier Botet, and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. Creature performer Javier Botet will play The Leper, and Owen Teague plays Patrick Hocksetter, a bully who torment the Losers’ Club.

Muschietti is directing from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman and Chase Palmer. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, and Barbara Muschietti produce.

Part one of Andy Muschietti’s IT is planned to reach theatres on September 8, 2017.
