Gas Station From Texas Chainsaw Massacre Turned into Barbecue Resort

This famous location from the iconic Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) film, produced and directed by Tobe Hooper, has now been turned into a horror barbecue resort. The Last Chance gas station played a big part in the film, and included a scene with Gunnar Hansen “Leatherface” chasing one of his victims around with a large chainsaw, the films most intense chase scene, perhaps? We’ll let you decide on that one.

Once known as Bilbo’s Texas Landmark, this rural gas station in Bastrop country, has been left abandoned for years. A business named Roy Rose from Ohio was a huge fan of the film since age 10, bought the property last year, he then decided to move to Texas and worked hard to restore it.

In the original (1974) film, the gas station is run by Drayton Sewer, the head of the flesh eating cannibals. You can’t forget the scenes with him serving his barbecue meats to all passing customers. It’s nice to see the new sign “We Slaughter Barbecue” on the roof, and look at that great repainted exterior.

Another interesting fact, Friday the 13th icon Ari Lehan, who played the very first Jason Voorhees in the 1980 slasher film, has been made a partner on the project.
