NEWS BITS:

Is This A Suitable Director For The Next ‘Halloween’ Film?

Halloween: The Inside Story

Last Night’s news that John Carpenter would return to the Halloween to produce a new film in the franchise was shocking, which turned the horror world upside down. Blumhouse and John Carpenter are partnering for the next Halloween project. We now have a slight update on the direction for the new film.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, Mike Flangan is currently in talks to direct the new Halloween film, which is not a remake, reboot, or even a sequel. Flanagan has worked with Blumhouse in the past on such projects as Oculus and 2016’s Hush, and he also directed the soon to be released Quija 2. Is Mike Flanagan is a suitable director for the next film? Let us know what you think.

“We made the original HALLOWEEN for very little money,” he added. “At heart it’s just a good, scary story, and that’s why it works. 38 years after the original Halloween,” says John Carpenter, “I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.”

“HALLOWEEN needs to return to its traditions,” Carpenter said. “I feel like the movies have gotten away from that… Michael is not just a human being; he’s a force of nature, like the wind. That’s what makes him so scary.”

There isn’t a confirmed release date at this time, but the hope is to have a new Halloween film premiere by 2017.
