Johannes Roberts' ‘The Strangers 2’ First Casting Announcement!

It was back in March when we first heard news that the Johannes Roberts-directed The Strangers 2 was making progress, and now we have even more information on the latest cast joining the film via a press release. Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, and Lewis Pullman are your new faces of The Strangers sequel, Dark Universe learned today. The film is heading to the Cannes market where it will continue sales, with Aviron distributing the film in the U.S. and Canada.

Synopsis:
A family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and after the power goes out they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness, three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.

BLOOM announced today that Emmy Award-nominated Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” The Neon Demon, Drive), Bailee Madison (“Once Upon a Time,” Just Go with It), and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, Battle of the Sexes) have joined the cast of The Strangers 2. Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, 47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) and Ben Ketai.

BLOOM first introduced the project at the Berlin International Film Festival and will continue sales in Cannes. The Fyzz Facility Pictures’ Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River, The Foreigner), Robert Jones (Centurion, The Usual Suspects), Mark Lane, and James Harris (47 Meters Down, I Am Not A Serial Killer) are producing, in association with Relativity Media. The Fyzz Facility is also serving as a financier on the project. Aviron will be distributing the film in the U.S. and Canada.

Intrepid Pictures’ Trevor Macy, who produced 2008’s The Strangers as well as successful genre titles such as The Bye Bye Man, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Oculus, will serve as executive producer. Principal photography will begin on May 30th in Los Angeles.
