John Carpenter Confirms He’s Made a Deal to Score Blumhouse’s ‘Halloween’!

This is the confirmation we all wanted to hear, horror master John Carpenter has officially made a deal to score next year’s Halloween film.

In a new interview with the good folks over at Billboard this week, Carpenter revealed the following announcement.

I am an executive producer and it looks clear to me that I’ve made a deal to do the music,” he told the site. “There are many options. I’ll be consulting with the director to see what he feels. I could create a new score, we could update the old score and amplify it, or we could combine those two things. I’ll have to see the movie to see what it requires.

Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode in the next year’s Halloween. Judy Greer (Jurassic World) is in talks to play Karen, the daughter of Laurie.

John Carpenter will executive produce with Malek Akkad producing for Trancas and horror specialist Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse. Gordon Green and McBride will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Synopsis:
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Halloween will stalk theaters on October 19th, 2018.
