John Carpenter on the Status of Blumhouse's Halloween

In a recent interview while touring over in the United Kingdom, John Carpenter had a bit to say on Blumhouse’s Halloween. Dark Universe can 100% confirm that no script exists for the next sequel, so god knows what it will be about. We do know that it will be set on Halloween night and Michael Myers will be on the loose!

Carpenter never opens up much on how he feels about the Halloween franchise, so we will take anything we can get. Read on and find out what the man himself had to say about the next Halloween film from Blumhouse productions.

Carpenter on his relationship with Jason Blum and Halloween status:

I’ve known Jason for a while, he came to me and said ‘How do you feel about this now that rights have diverted?’ and I said, ‘Sure, why not? I’ll give it a shot and I’ll also try to support the director,'” he says. “We don’t have a script yet, so I can’t tell you what it’s about, but I guarantee you it’s about Halloween night and it’s about a masked killer!

Carpenter continues:

I found myself bitching all these years about them making another one, so with this one I thought, well, maybe I can get in and help and make something I’m proud of instead of sitting at home grumbling.

Dark Universe will continue to keep you posted.
