John Carpenter Talks 'Escape from Earth' Concept and Snake Plissken's Fate

Countless times over several years, we have heard about John Carpenter‘s concept to bring Kurt Russell back as Snake Plissken in the final Escape sequel, Escape from Earth, creating what would have been one of the most epic trilogies ever.

An Italian website known as Cinema Everyeye recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Carpenter, director of the classic 1981 film Escape from New York and its sequel Escape from L.A.

Escape from Earth is an idea we had several years ago, but we never managed to go any further. The story would take place after the events of Escape from LA, which saw Snake take energy away from the world to teach a lesson to humanity, Carpenter told the site. “The second sequel would have seen Snake moving into this new world, which had naturally fallen into war and chaos as a result of his actions. With the Armageddon on the horizon, Snake’s goal would have been to leave the planet before the end came.

How cool would it have been to see Russell return to reprise his role as Snake for one last Escape movie? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments section.
