Another surprising piece of news regarding Terminator 6 comes today via THR, who just dropped this shocking announcement that Terminator and Terminator 2 star Linda Hamilton is returning to the franchise as our badass heroine Sarah Connor!

With Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron, and Linda Hamilton coming back, all we need now is Edward Furlong to complete the line up.

As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return.” Cameron made the announcement at a private event celebrating the storied franchise. “There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys, but there isn’t an example of that for women.

Terminator 6 will be a direct sequel to Cameron’s 1991 classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with further plans to launch a new trilogy that will reinvent the franchise.

We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story,” Cameron noted. “We will fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.”

James Cameron is producing along with Skydance and Paramount, which is based on a story crafted by Cameron. Cameron and Miller created a writers room team, including David Goyer (Blade, The Dark Knight), Charles Eglee (“Dark Angel”) and Josh Friedman (“The Sarah Connor Chronicles”).
