As you may remember, a few months ago we heard some rumblings that TNT and M. Night Shyamalan would bring us a new version of Tales From The Crypt for TV. This announcement didn’t go down that well with fans of the original HBO series, without the beloved Cryptkeeper on screen, this just wouldn’t be the same to us hardcore followers of the 1989 show. We then heard that a new Crypkeeper would appear on the planned reboot of the show, but will they be able to find a suitable replacement to keep the fans happy? Who knows.
But wait, we have some news on the current state of the project from Shyamalan, who has been re-thinking his direction for the new series. We’ve heard that the new show will be very much like “American Horror Story”, with each new season there will be one, multi-episode tale.
“You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d asked me this six months ago I would have a different answer, but where I am right now it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now.”
What do you fans think of this approach to the project? Sounds a little better then it did a few months ago, don’t you think? We’ll have to wait and see where this goes. Stay tuned for more on this story as we get it.
