NEWS BITS:

M Night Shyamalan’s ‘Tales From The Crypt’ Reboot is Dead at TNT

It looks like those recent legal issues at TNT have killed any possibility of seeing M Night Shyamalan’s Tales From The Crypt reboot come to light, which is a big disappointment for fans of the horror anthology classic.

Deadline caught up with TNT president Kevin Reilly to ask him some questions regarding its future, and he told the website that Tales From The Crypt isn’t moving forward. From what we understand, they want to move forward with Ridley Scott’s sci-fi block instead.

That one got really caught up in a complete legal mess unfortunately with a very complicated underlying rights structure,” Reilly said. “We lost so much time, so I said, ‘Look, I’m not waiting around four years for this thing’. Maybe that will come back around but in the meantime, Ridley Scott had come up, who has so much creative enthusiasm.

I think at this point we would just settle for a Blu-Ray release of the original HBO series.

Meanwhile, Shyamalan is working on his Split sequel Glass.
