Nick Castle The Shape

This past weekend, horror legend Nick Castle reprised his role as Michael Myers when he donned the classic overalls and “The Shape” mask for the first time in 40 years, filming a scene for Blumhouse’s Halloween that took place out on the streets of the new Haddonfield.

Sadly, this far away shot is as good as it gets for now. We were told that security was locked in on the set this past weekend, making sure not to let anyone get a close up photo of “The Shape” in action. I can’t help but feel so much nostalgia and excitement knowing that Nick Castle is on the set of a new Halloween film as Michael Myers. You can check out some different versions of the photo down below.

What we know:
Someone from the set mentioned that the hair on the mask has been slightly stylised, but it definitely captures that 1978 look.

Is the new mask based on Shatner? Yes! People/actors who are on the set have confirmed it’s back to the original mask.

Jamie Lee Curtis arrived on set last Thursday, so we naturally assume that she’s already shot some scenes for the film.

Rumours:
Does Laurie die? We don’t know. Don’t believe everything you read.

Does “The Shape” die? We don’t know. Again, don’t believe everything you read.

Will we see Dr. Loomis in the film? Doubtful, but it would be an amazing surprise.

Is Jamie Lee Curtis now a cop? It’s only a theory for now.

Will Jamie Lee Curtis become a Dr. Loomis type character? Yet another rumour.

Do we know if this Halloween movie will be the final one? Not 100% confirmed.

British actress Rhian Rees (Confession of a Child of the Century, Rehearsal, The Lears) recently joined the cast as Dana, but nothing about her role in the film has been revealed. My guess is that she could be a relative of Dr. Loomis, played by the late Donald Pleasence in John Carpenter’s Halloween.

Will Patton “Shots Fired” has been cast to play a police officer. Ginny Gardner “Runaways”, Miles Robbins (My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (When We Rise), Drew Scheid (“Stranger Things”), have all joined the cast playing school friends of Andi Matichak’s character, Allyson.

Christopher Nelson heads the special fx, along with Emmy Award nominee Vincent Van Dyke, who worked with Halloween icon Jamie Lee Curtis on the TV show Scream Queens. The film’s FX makeup coordinator is Bright‘s Stephanie A. Ford.

Synopsis:
Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Nick Castle will once again return to play Michael Myers, Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode, Judy Greer will play Karen, the daughter of Laurie, Andi Matichak is playing Allyson, Greer’s daughter and Curtis’ granddaughter.

John Carpenter will executive produce with Malek Akkad producing for Trancas and horror specialist Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse. Gordon Green and McBride will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Halloween will stalk theaters on October 19th, 2018.
