American actress Chloë Grace Moretz, who plays (Patricia) in director Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 horror masterpiece Suspiria, praised the Italian director while attending the Fendi show.

Moretz went as far as calling Guadagnino the next Stanley Kubrick. Check out what the actress had to say about the new Suspiria below.

I can’t speak about anything about it, it’s very under wraps. Even if I did try to explain it, it’s unexplainable. It’s really its own thing. But I can say that I saw the movie recently and I would go as far as to say that he’s our next Stanley Kubrick, and I think he’s the most prolific director of our time,” Moretz said.

Frenesy Film Company, Mythology Entertainment, First Sun Films, and Memo Films produce. Guadagnino, Brad Fischer, Kajganich, Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Marco Morabito, Gabriele Moratti, William Sherak, and Silvia Venturini Fendi are producers on the title while James Vanderbilt, Paul Deason, Massimiliano Violante, and Carlo Antonelli exec produce.

Synopsis:
Susie Bannion, a young American woman who travels to the prestigious Markos Tanz Company in Berlin in 1977, arriving just as one of its members, Patricia, has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As Susie makes extraordinary progress under the guidance of Madame Blanc, the Company’s revolutionary artistic director, she befriends another dancer, Sara, who shares her suspicions that the Matrons, and the Company itself, may be harboring a dark and menacing secret.

Suspiria also stars Dakota Johnson as (Susie Bannion), Tilda Swinton as (Madame Blanc), Mia Goth as (Sara), Jessica Harper as (Anke), Angela Winkler as (Miss Tanner), Sylvie Testud as (Miss Griffith), Renée Soutendijk as (Miss Huller), Ingrid Caven as (Miss Vendegast), Lutz Ebersdorf as (Dr. Jozef Klemperer) and Malgorzata Bela as (Mother).

The film is set for release later this year. Amazon Studios picked up the project last year for worldwide distribution rights and is financing production.
