Todd McFarlane’s R-Rated ‘Spawn’ Film Will Be Produced by Blumhouse!

Dark universe has just learned some very exciting news tonight. Spawn creator and comic book artist Todd McFarlane took to Facebook to announce a new partnership via his McFarlane Films banner with Blumhouse, who will be producing his live-action screenplay adaptation that will bring the iconic character back to the big screen.

Having worked with many visionary directors, I think Todd’s unique artistic talents will only add to his role as director of this film,” Blum said in an official statement.

It’s now offical! We’re finally getting a new Spawn film! McFarlane will pen the first draft of the screenplay and is set to make his directorial debut.

McFarlane recently spoke with Peel the Orange, stating, “I’d put it more into horror/suspense/supernatural genre. In the background, there’s this thing moving around, this boogeyman. That boogeyman just happens to be something that you and I, intellectually, know is Spawn. Will he look like he did in the first movie? No. Will he have a supervillain he fights? No. He’s going to be the spectre, the ghost.

Macfarlane previously stated that his new R-Rated Spawn film will “scare the sh*t out of you.
