Dead of Summer is a new TV slasher series from network Freeform inspired by the 1980’s slasher films, which takes place within a summer camp. The new series is set in the 1980’s with a killer running around on the loose.
Dead of Summer starts production this week, with Tony Todd on board.
On his official Twitter page, Tony Todd broke the news that he will star in the series: “With great honor I’m proud to announce joining cast of @ABCFamily now known as #Freeform show is #DeadofSummer,” wrote the star of horror favorites like Candyman, Final Destination, and Hatchet 2. “Shoots in @CityofVancouver.”
“Set in the late 1980s, school is out in Dead of Summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses—and first kills. Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn.”
Each of the episodes will be centered around one of the counselors. Todd will be playing a creepy dude with a smooth, sultry voice.
Dark Universe will keep you updated on this new series.
