All becomes clear, literally, when Nada slips on a pair of the special shades and a deluge of subliminal advertising comes into focus. Commands beam from TV screens and scream from the pages of magazines, brainwashing the masses into compliance. Worse, many seemingly ordinary people are revealed to be grotesque aliens who are sucking the Earth dry of its natural and human resources. They occupy positions of power, and have gained the cooperation of yuppies by making them rich.
