'12 Screams of Christmas' Brings Daily 'Scream' Updates to Fans

Marketing for next month’s Scream relaunch has been well underway for several months now, and Paramount Pictures has done a tremendous job getting fans hyped for the upcoming fifth installment that will see the return of franchise veterans Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Learn more about what the “12 Screams of Christmas” event is all about below.

Scream hits theaters January 14th, 2022, and as a special holiday treat for fans, the film’s marketing team has launched the 12 Screams of Christmas. Each day, for twelve days, fans can visit the movie’s official social media pages for a brand-new Scream update. So far, we’ve seen new posters, featurettes and today we got a beautiful tribute to the late Wes Craven, director of the first four Scream installments. Even more special is that today marks the 25th anniversary of 1996’s Scream. You can check out the tribute below!

“Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”

The film’s co-director Tyler Gillett has a desire to expand the franchise beyond Scream 2022, confirming in an interview conducted recently with the site Hello Sidney that: “there is more gas in the tank. There are more stories to be told in Woodsboro, and about these characters, for sure.”

Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

Scream arrives in theaters January 14th, 2022.
