'Beetlejuice 2': Johnny Depp Rumoured for Role in 2025 Sequel

The latest rumour doing the rounds regarding Beetlejuice 2 is that it will be coming out in 2025 and will feature star Johnny Depp (according to a new IMDb cast listing) in an unspecified role. Back in march, we reported on the news via The Ankler that development on the long rumoured Beetlejuice 2 had begun at KatzSmith Productions and Brad Pitt’s Company Plan B Entertainment. Fingers crossed this news is the real deal.

At the time, the site also noted that original stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder had signed on to reprise their roles of Beetlejuice and tritagonist Lydia Deetz. But as of writing this latest post, we still don’t have any official confirmation on the movie actually going ahead or if either of the original cast members are returning for the sequel.

The original 1988 movie has the following synopsis:

When the deceased couple Adam and Barbara are unsuccessful in scaring away a family that has moved into their old home, they seek the help of bio-exorcist Betelgeuse.

Would you be happy if Johnny Depp had a starring role in Beetlejuice 2? If so, do you think the movie will ever actually be officially announced? As usual, you can let us know the answers to both questions down in our Disqus comments area below this post.

Stay tuned to Dark Universe for more potential development updates on Beetlejuice 2 to come.
