Blumhouse's 'Black Christmas' Remake Casts 'Saw' Star Cary Elwes to Play a Main Part

Deadline is reporting today that Saw‘s Cary Elwes has been cast in the Blumhouse and Universal remake of Bob Clark horror slasher classic Black Christmas. According to the site, Elwes will play a main part in the film but details of the role were not disclosed.

Jason Blum will produce Black Christmas for Blumhouse Productions, and Ben Cosgrove and Adam Hendricks of Divide/Conquer. Greg Gilreath and Zac Locke of Divide/Conquer are on board to executive producer the project.

Synopsis: “A group of sorority sisters at Hawthorne College, who are being hunted down and killed by an unknown stalker. Soon, the killer learns that the school’s women are willing to mount a fight to stop the carnage.

The Black Christmas remake will star Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt.

Look for the film when it hits theaters on Friday the 13th of December.
