Blumhouse’s ‘Halloween’ Begins Filming Soon in Charleston, South Carolina

Blumhouse’s Halloween

After the shocking announcement made by Blumhouse regarding Jamie Lee Curtis’ return to Haddonfield as the iconic heroine Laurie Strode in director David Gordon Green’s Halloween, we have an extra piece of news for you today.

Last week, Filmmaker Magazine interviewed David Gordon Green on the status of the film. Green noted that Halloween is set to begin filming in six weeks time in Charleston, South Carolina.

I am working with Jason Blum, and he is great. Every horror fan knows Blumhouse and what they represent,” said Gordon Green. “The fact that me and Danny [McBride] wrote it is probably confusing to them, but we’ll keep that in the shadows. That is not going to be a part of how we campaign the movie.

We start shooting in six weeks in Charleston,” he continued. “I can’t say too much more as we are trying to keep things tight right now, but we are doing something unique. John Carpenter is involved as well, which is like a dream to me. The two films I couldn’t watch growing up were Halloween and Revenge of the Nerds, so I can’t wait to invite my parents to this one.

Carpenter will executive produce with Malek Akkad producing for Trancas and horror specialist Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse. Gordon Green and McBride will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Halloween is expected to open in theaters on October 19th, 2018.
