Director Darren Lynn Bousman Confirms That New 'Saw' Reboot Begins Filming Next Week!

Back in May, it was announced that comedian Chris Rock and Darren Lynn Bousman (director of Saw II, III, IV) had signed on to reimagine the beloved Saw franchise for Lions Gate Entertainment Corp and Twisted Pictures.

Bousman took to Twitter recently to let fans know that filming is set to begin on the new Saw film next week.

Start shooting the new Saw film in just a few days. Something I never thought I be typing again! Gotta be honest. No one is ready for the insanity about to bleed out on screen!

The film will be executive produced by Chris RockDaniel Heffner and the original creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules, who have produced the Saw franchise over the years, had the following to say about Rock’s vision:

Chris wants to put his own spin on the Saw franchise in the way Eddie Murphy put a completely fresh perspective on buddy-cop films with 48 Hours. This new Saw is going to be an event film in the making for horror fans. It will have all of the twists and turns and hardcore layers that our fans expect directed by one of the masters of the craft, Darren Lynn Bousman. We can’t wait to get started.

Look for the new Saw movie when it hits theatres on October 23rd, 2020.
