'Evil Dead Rise': Director Lee Cronin Confirms After 6 Months of Hard Work Editing is Complete

After 6 months of hard work on Evil Dead Rise, director Lee Cronin confirmed in a tweet this past Thursday evening that it’s a picture lock on the film. While the film is still not complete with music composition and sound design still yet to be taken care of, this is a giant step in the completion process. Look for the deadites to make their return later this year on HBO Max.

In his Tweet, Cronin said it’s one more step closer to unleashing Evil Dead Ride into the world:

Cronin did share a tease of some of the film’s eerie sound effects from the editing suite in Dublin back in early January.

Evil Dead Rise has the following synopsis:

Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A. apartment. The sister’s reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

The film was produced by Sam RaimiBruce Campbell and Robert Tapert.
