'The Exorcist' Sequel: FX Make-Up Artist Christopher Nelson Says "It's Looking Rad"

First announced back in 2021, Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green is teaming back up with the folks at Blumhouse Productions once again to direct a sequel to William Friedkin‘s 1973 horror classic The Exorcist.

According to a report posted back in July of 2021, the plan is to create another trilogy similar to what they are currently doing with Halloween. We can also confirm that Ellen Burstyn will reprise her role as Chris MacNeil from the 1973 original.

Apart from what we already know above, do we have anything new to share? I hear you ask. Well, you can check out what fx make-up artist Christopher Nelson had to say about the project recently on his and Sean Clark’s podcast show The Thing With Two Heads:

When a fan asked how’s the Exorcist stuff looking, Nelson answered with the following comments:

It’s looking fu*king rad. It’s rad. It’s looking great. I’m excited.

The following plot information is all we have for now:

“Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”

Scott TeemsDanny McBride and Green crafted the story written by Peter Sattler (Broken Diamonds).

Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton) also stars beside Burstyn.

David Robinson and James Robinson serve as producers with Jason Blum.

Even thought his comments on the new Exorcist were short but sweet, does it get you a little excited? If so, will you be attending the opening night showing when it arrives in theaters next year? As usual, you can let us know the answers to both questions down in our comments section below this post.

The Exorcist will open in theaters on October 13th2023.
