Fede Alvarez Says 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is a Direct Sequel Featuring Old Man Leatherface

We learned the details last May that Legendary Entertainment and producer Fede Alvarez‘s upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre project is a direct sequel to the original 1974 Tobe Hooper-directed horror classic. And today more information regarding Leatherface’s character has been revealed, along with some new bits on the filmmakers approach.

In a new interview with BD‘s The Boo Crew Podcast, Alvarez revealed the following titbits.

It is a direct sequel, and (Leatherface) is the same character. It is old man Leatherface.

He added: “Everything is classic, old school gags. A lot of the approach that we had with Evil Dead – never VFX, to do everything on camera. It’s a very old school approach to filmmaking. Vintage lenses… it’s very similar to the original film.
