'Halloween Ends': Jamie Lee Curtis Thinks She'll Be Playing Laurie Strode for the Final Time

Inside of this Friday’s special Halloween Kills issue of Total Film Magazine, Jamie Lee Curtis, who has played heroine Laurie Strode in six Halloween films to date, admitted in an interview with the mag that she thinks Halloween Ends might be her last time playing the character.

While speaking with the publication, Curtis said:

I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play (Laurie). And I’m not saying something like, ‘Oh, because I die!’ It’s nothing to do with that. I’m talking about emotionally what they have constructed. I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy.

Producer Malek Akkad also shared the following comments regarding the final film:

The last one is going to be way more contained.

Finally, the film’s director David Gordon Green followed up Akkad’s comments on Ends in the magazine’s newest issue with:

I get engaged by doing something different. If I was just going to be repetitive, I would hand the reins off to someone else. When you have that opportunity within an established franchise, it’s really fun to think about how you can show different tones and perspectives and evolve.

Do you think Laurie Strode should die in the final film of the saga? Where do you think the franchise could go in the future? As always, you can sound off with your thoughts on this down in our comment section below this article.

Halloween Ends will unleash Michael Myers in theaters on October 14th, 2022.
