'Halloween Ends': John Carpenter Says the Goal is to End the Franchise

After several movies in the beloved Halloween franchise, this year’s Halloween Ends could be the final outing for horror icon Michael Myers for a very long time if not for good. This is backed by an interview the horror master John Carpenter did with ComicBook.com, where he confirmed what the studio’s goals are after Ends. You can check out what Carpenter had to say below.

In some related production news this week, Halloween Ends producer Jason Blum released comments stating that a first cut of the film will be ready in two or three months.

While speaking with the site this week, Carpenter revealed the following information:

I don’t know, man. I don’t know. This time, I do not know. They really want to end. They’re going to shut it off, end it. It’s what David has in mind. That’s fine.

It sounds final in this timeline, but my best guess is that Michael will be back in another possible timeline or a completely new start of the franchise. Give it another couple of years before any chance of Michael popping up again though.

Jamie Lee CurtisAndi Matichak, and Kyle Richards reprise their roles in the film as Laurie Strode, Allyson Strode, and Lindsey Wallace. Actor Michael O’Leary recently joined the cast as Doctor Mathis. Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney will both return to the role of the boogeyman Michael Myers.

Do you believe that this year’s movie might be Michael Myers’ last outing? If so, in which direction do you think the franchise should finish up? As usual, you can let us know the answers to both questions down in our comments section below this post.

Halloween Ends is set to slash up theaters worldwide on October 14th2022.
