A Bloody Katherine Waterston Prepares for Battle in Alien: Covenant Photo

Take a look at Katherine Waterston in another new Alien: Covenant photo, which was posted by USA Today and shows a shot of our heroine in a wounded state, complete with firepower, bloody faced, ready to unload on any alien threats that might be in her path. Head on down to see!

Waterston was also asked about her character Daniels and how comparative it is to the Alien franchise’s original heroine, Sigourney Weaver as Ripley:

You don’t really know what you’re made of until you’re tested. (Ripley and Daniels) are both able to somehow think clearly in really shocking, unimaginable scenarios. It’s fun to play someone who can thrive in that chaos.

The film is directed by Ridley Scott, and written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen, and John Logan. Alien: Covenant is a prequeal to Scott’s Alien and a sequel to Prometheus, which is set twenty years before Alien and ten years after Prometheus.

Michael Fassbender is returning as Prometheus‘ android David, with Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Jobs, The Babysitters) leading a new crew that includes Demian Bichir and Danny McBride (“Eastbound and Down”), as well as Alex England (Gods of Egypt), Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, “The Killing”), Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills).

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant reaches theaters on the new date of May 19, 2017.
