Mahershala Ali Talks 'Blade' Reboot Role: "I’m Just Looking to Earn My Place"

Mahershala Ali, who has been cast as the Daywalker in Marvel’s Blade reboot, is just looking to earn his role that was portrayed in three previous movies by star Wesley Snipes.

While talking with YouTube channel Jake’s Take, Ali had the following to say about his role in the next year’s Blade reboot, expressing his excitement to get going:

What I look forward to is earning it,” Ali told Hamilton. “There’s an anticipation for it, excitement for it that he owns. That Mr. Snipes owns. In filling his shoes, I’m just looking to earn my place in this, and I’m excited to get going and do the work.

Bassam Tariq, best known for the Riz Ahmed film Mogul Mowgli, will direct Marvel’s Blade from a script written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (“Watchmen”).

Back in late November THR reported that Delroy Lindo (The Harder They Fall, Crooklyn) is in talks to star alongside Ali in an unspecified role.

Do you think Mahershala Ali is the perfect choice to play the role of the Daywalker? If so, do you think there’s a possibility that he could outshine Snipes’ portrayal of the character? As usual, you can let us know the answers to both questions down in our comments section below this article.

Blade is still slated pencilled in for an October 7th2022 release.

Stay tuned to Dark Universe for more news on Marvel’s Blade to come.
