New ‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie Begins Filming in Australia This Year, With James Wan Producing!

It’s been quite some time since we last gave you an update on the progress of New Line’s Mortal Kombat movie, but today we finally have something exciting for you. In an official press release shared via the BossLogic Twitter page, it’s confirmed that production is gearing to begin in South Australia later this year!

If you missed our previous update on the project back in July of last year, we shared details on a number of new characters and their story details, courtesy of the folks at That Hashtag Show.

Mortal Kombat is a bold cinematic adventure based on the blockbuster videogame franchise. Bringing the legendary property to life on the big-screen is a team of world-renowned Australian filmmakers.

As you probably already know, the project is being directed by Simon Mcquoid from a script by Greg Russo (Highwaymen), and spearheaded by producer James Wan (The Conjuring).
