‘Salem’s Lot’: Lewis Pullman Lands Lead Role in New Line’s Adaptation of Stephen King’s Best-Selling Novel

As reported back in early April of 2020, Annabelle Comes Home director Gary Dauberman will write and direct a new adaptation of Stephen King’s best-selling novel Salem’s Lot, and today brings news via our good friends over at THR that Lewis Pullman (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Top Gun: Maverick) has been cast as the film’s lead.

The site notes: “Pullman will star as author Ben Mears, a man who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together a ragtag group that will fight the evil presence.”

Dauberman previously shared these words on the project:

I like to be as true to the story as I possibly can until it gets a little too unwieldy for a movie. I’m very, very excited to be a part of that and tackle it. It hasn’t had the big screen treatment yet, which is how I felt about It. It’s so fun to play around with vampires and make something truly scary with vampires. I haven’t seen that in a long, long time, and I’m excited for people to see it.

James Wan is producing Salem’s Lot for New Line Cinema.

So what do you guys think of the first casting choice? Are you a fan of Lewis Pullman’s other action roles? If so, you can let us know the answers to both of these questions down in our comments section below this update.

Salem’s Lot will begin production next month in Boston.
