Director Steven Kostanski Says He's Up for a Sequel to 'Leprechaun Returns'

Steven Kostanski’s sequel to the original Leprechaun movie, Leprechaun Returns, made its debut on Digital platforms on December 11th. Dark Universe’s Gareth Paterson’s shared his thoughts on the latest franchise entry in his full review here.

In a brief interview with the Horror Channel, Kostanski revealed that he’s up for another Leprechaun sequel:

“If the premise is cool and if the fans enjoy what I did with Leprechaun Returns – sure!”

Synopsis: “The deadly, wisecracking Leprechaun is back in all his gory glory. When the sorority sisters of the Alpha Upsilon house decide to go green and use an old well as their water source, they unwittingly awaken a pint-sized, green-clad monster. The Leprechaun wants a pot of gold buried near the sorority house, but first, he must recover his powers with a killing spree—and only the girls of AU can stop him.”

The cast is led by Taylor Spreitler (Kevin Can Wait) as Lila, Pepi Sonuga (“Ash vs Evil Dead”) as Katie, Sai Bennett (Lake Placid: Legacy) as Rose, and Linden Porco as the leprechaun (replacing longtime star Warwick Davis). The film will also bring back a co-star from the original film in Mark Holton, who will reprise his role as Ozzie, the group’s goofball friend almost killed by the leprechaun all those years ago. Additional co-stars include Emily Reid as Meredith, Oliver Llewellyn-Jenkins as Matt, and Ben McGregor as Andy.

Leprechaun Returns is available now on Digital and On Demand.
