'Terrifier 2': Director Damien Leone Confirms Halloween Season Release Date

While attending this year’s Mad Monster Party in North Carolina, star David Howard Thornton and director Damien Leone sat down to provide answers to questions regarding Terrifier 2. Leone went on to confirm that the film will be released this Halloween season, which would mean Art the Clown will be going up against horror icon Michael Myers.

When a fan asked if the film has an official release date set in place yet, Leone revealed the following details via HDN:

It’s going to be Halloween season. Don’t have a specific date yet.

Leone also spoke about a major character making an appearance in the sequel:

There is a major character that you haven’t seen. We haven’t spoiled the character, and its’s a major part of the story, and it’s a major supernatural character that really you’re gonna go, ‘Whoa, where did that come from? What movie am I watching?’ So I’m excited. There are a lot of surprises in this one. We take it to a radical place.

Leone on Art the Clown and Michael Myers butting heads this Halloween season:

Yeah, why not? We’re going against the big boy.

Back in December, we got our first taste of the film’s eerie score by composer Paul Wiley.

The film has the following synopsis:

“After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night. As the body count rises, the siblings fight to stay alive while uncovering the true nature of Art’s evil intent.”

The films stars David Howard Thornton, Lauren LaVera, and Elliott Fullam. Tamara Glynn (Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Jason Lively (Night of the Creeps) also make appearances.
