New 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' TV Series and Future Films Coming from Legendary Pictures

The last couple of Texas Chainsaw Massacre films haven’t been up to scratch, Millenium Films’ Leatherface being a prime example of major disappointment. What dos the future hold for the series? Well, today we have some answers for you.

The folks over at BD are reporting that the beloved series has found a new home. Legendary Pictures, the production company who gave us big-budget flicks such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Watchmen, Inception and Jurassic World, has scored ownership of the horror franchise.

The plan is to make more further films in the franchise, along with a new TV series somewhere down the line. Nothing’s been confirmed at present, but we’ll keep you updated on this interesting story.

In Tobe Hooper’s original film:

When Sally (Marilyn Burns) hears that her grandfather’s grave may have been vandalized, she and her paraplegic brother, Franklin (Paul A. Partain), set out with their friends to investigate. After a detour to their family’s old farmhouse, they discover a group of crazed, murderous outcasts living next door. As the group is attacked one by one by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen), who wears a mask of human skin, the survivors must do everything they can to escape.
