'Resident Evil 3' Remake Playable Demo Now Available Ahead of April Release

With the debut of the Resident Evil 3 remake slowly approaching, Capcom is giving players the opportunity to play early before its release on April 3rd through the now available demo. After the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake, Capcom did not hesitate to jump into production on remaking another classic staple of the series.

The third entry takes place in 1998 alongside the events of Resident Evil 2 in which players control former police officer Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse. The remake differs from the original game as it features third-person shooter gameplay and also includes an online multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance, in which four players team up to stop a “mastermind.”

The Resident Evil 2 remake received critical acclaim and went on to sell over five million copies by the end of 2019. Capcom is hoping for similar success on the heels of such positive reactions and the demo will give fans an early taste of what to expect. The demo runs for roughly 30 minutes and is free to download on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

If 30 minutes of puzzle solving and zombie slaying is not enough, players can pre-order the game today to be accessible on April 3rd which will include the Jill and Carlos classic costume pack at no additional charge.
